Connolly has developed tools to help animal care professionals identify their short- and long-term building needs. This collaborative process evaluates information about the shelter's operations, staff size, animal holding requirements, and role in the community. We translate this information into guidelines that inform the planning of an expanded, renovated, or new shelter. We often work with local architects and/or clients to provide expertise about the unique requirements of shelter buildings. Generally we serve as a consultant on the architectural team and provide architectural design services that inform the building's plan and design to best meet the requirements for outstanding shelter design. This service also includes the definition of the technology and materials applications that are vital to the design of a successful facility.
