Whitestones at 25th, Austin, Texas
The Whitestones is a condominium complex that houses four three-story units, each with a two-car garage, built on spec for a developer. Although the three-story building sits directly on its setback lines, its graceful exterior and three-dimensional façade break up its scale while contrasting stone and only four major materials - stone, clay tile, copper, and redwood - create a quiet elegance. The massing, limestone exterior, and clay tile roof were inspired by buildings on the adjacent UT campus. When phase two is complete, it will consist of two mirroring buildings joined by a motor court.
