The Animal Defense League of Texas (ADL) is the largest no-kill non-profit animal shelter in the Southwest. Connolly updated the shelter master plan by completing a shelter analysis, needs assessment, phased development, programming, and cost estimates. ADL staff wanted to take advantage of its extraordinary site and create more visibility for the facility. Connolly proposed a phased project, beginning with new indoor/outdoor dog kennels that feature an extended play area, which allow dogs to roam freely in an enclosed area. The new kennel improves staff efficiency was designed to last more than 50 years, thereby reducing long-term operation and maintenance costs.
