Connolly provided full architectural services for a bright and welcoming new shelter in this rapidly expanding suburb of Dallas.
Located on an arterial street, the facility shares an entrance with city playing
fields to the rear and benefits from the synergy of having the two municipal
properties adjacent to each other.
Contrasting brick and concrete on the exterior creates an elegant look that also complies with the town’s preference for masonry-clad buildings.
From the lobby, large windows offer views into the two cat playing areas and natural light floods the hallways and staff work areas through light monitors in the roof.
Interior windows also transfer natural light from room to room.
The cat kennel area can be closed off from the public to allow cats to roam freely during the day and return to their enclosures overnight.
