Planning a Bright Future

The El Paso Humane Society asked Connolly to design a new master plan to meet its expansion needs for the next ten years on its new four-acre site. The master plan includes a new 8,000 square foot main facility with detached dog kennels and plenty of outdoor play areas for animals as well as visitors. The facility design will accommodate the desert climate through carefully selected materials and design elements that will bring sunlight into the facility and keep the heat out.
Designing in the desert requires careful attention to solar orientation and shading devices to keep utility costs down.
